Nancy Baker has worked in the Department of Physician Services since August 2002 as Administrative Assistant. Previously, she worked as a secretary at a Health Care recruiting firm for one year, FedEx customer service representative for 11 years and a physical therapy equipment sales representative for 4 years.
Her role consists of support for the department of Physician Services by answering calls from outside offices when the director Physician Services and/or the Physician Services Representatives are out of the office. She also assists with drafting messages sent to outside offices and revising information on the Provider Portal. Nancy is a major asset to the department of Physician Services and to the outside offices when they need help.
Since February 2012, Nancy also began supporting the department of International Services. She works very closely with the international visiting physicians, fellows and nurses before and during their stay at Children’s Mercy.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree and Teaching Certificate in Physical Education and Health from the University of Central Missouri in 1977.
Nancy’s family consists of one sister & 3 cats named Scooter, BooBoo and Marvin the Martian.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and cruising, attending theatrical productions and concerts, refurbishing her 1920’s craftsman bungalow home, playing Mah-Jongg with friends watching TV and movies, working in her flower gardens, riding roller coasters and celebrating her favorite holiday which is Halloween.
