Some doctors object to certain medical treatments based upon
their own religious beliefs. Abortion and contraception are at the
center of this debate. Such religious objections to legally
available treatments raise complex questions about the professional
obligations of physicians and the limits of their rights to abstain
from providing (or participating in the provision of) certain
medical interventions. We provide links to some articles discussing
conscientious refusals by physicians, and a summary of some legal
cases.
