These Policies and Procedures establish Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics' (CMH) guidelines for the selection, appointment, evaluation, promotion, probation, suspension and termination of residents and fellows. While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the information, the content of these policies is subject to change.

Programs must meet these minimum guidelines, but are free to adopt more rigorous policies as they see fit or as necessary to meet the requirements of their particular residency review committee or specialty board. Modifications to these policies and procedures must be approved by the applicable Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) with notification of the GME Department.
