There are numerous education options for the fellow. Specific pediatric otolaryngology conferences are held at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics including lectures, pathology and radiology conferences. The fellow and faculty will participate in the ASPO-sponsored online lecture series.
Lectures and Conferences
A core fellowship lecture series is held by the hospital. These conferences cover topics that are general to all fellows. It's also a great way to interact and meet the other fellows at the hospital.
There are numbers of other optional conferences that occur at Children's Mercy Hospital including weekly Pediatric Grand Rounds, Tumor Board, Oncology Conference and research conferences.
The fellow will teach medical students, residents and other fellows in both the clinical and didactic settings.
The fellow will have occasional required general and pediatric otolaryngology conferences at the University of Kansas Medical Center. There will be lectures, mock oral boards, M&M and Grand Rounds at this venue. The fellow will help with other experiences through the KUMC Otolaryngolgy Program such as temporal bone lab, airway lab and the dissection course.
