The Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Training Program at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics provides a variety of perks, benefits and on-site services and facilities to help make the fellows experience positive and rewarding.
The 2011-2012 salary for fellows in the Neonatal-Perinatal Training Program is subject to $14,000 additional stipend per PGY level above and beyond what is listed below:
- PGY4: $74,912
- PGY5: $76,338
- PGY6: $78,471
This is a highly competitive salary in consideration of the relatively low cost of living in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Other benefits include: health, dental, vision, life, disability and professional liability insurance. We also offer a flexible benefits program, which allows tax savings through health care and dependent care spending accounts.
The fellow is entitled to 20 working days of paid vacation per year. In addition, the fellow will earn sick leave at the rate of one (1) day per month for each consecutive month of employment. The fellow is expected to be physically present at the training site for 33 of the 36 months.
Funds are provided, with the program director's approval, to support the fellow's educational experience including books, journal subscriptions, conference attendance, licensure and examination fees. Some of the other benefits include.
