Fellowship highlights

The Child Abuse Pediatrics Fellowship at Children's Mercy provides physicians with skills needed to gain expertise in the medical evaluation of children who may be victims of abuse and/or neglect. The fellowship educates medical and community personnel and provides training on the design, execution and evaluation of research, administration and community advocacy.

We are dedicated to the service of children, families, and investigators involved in cases of potential child abuse and/or neglect of all varieties

The Section of Child Abuse Pediatrics serves a busy clinical practice including 1,700 outpatient visits and 150 inpatient consults per year. We also have strong linkages with child advocacy centers, SART programs, children's mental health agencies, foster/adoptive parent Organizations, children's attorneys and other community programs.

Our fellows may participate in a Master's level program through the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine, earning a certificate in research design and biostatistics.
