The smallest patients at Children's Mercy need your help!

When Mom and Dad are waiting for a premie baby to grow and mature enough so that he or she can go home, Mom and Dad need a way to show the little one they care. Studies have shown that Mother's voice is the most settling sound for our smallest patients. Therefore, we have a special program to present a book to the parents of our patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This way Mom and Dad can read to the little one. It's called:

Books for Babies!

Currently, we have a source to furnish enough English books for our families …however we have need for early child hood books for Spanish speaking families.

Would you and your group be willing to do a drive for Spanish language books? Books need to be story books similar to Dr. Seuss series. They are available at most bookstores.
