Volunteer One-Time Group and Entertainment Volunteers

Children’s Mercy Hospital offers two one-time entertainment volunteer opportunities available for community groups of individuals 18 years and out of highschool and older. These activities take place at the Adele Hall Campus, 2401 Gillham Road.

Wednesday Night Live

Evening Opportunity, Small groups (8-10)of adults are invited to bring art and craft projects or special entertainment to share with our patients on Wednesday evenings. This special activity is offered to patients and families weekly from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Corporations, community groups, and organizations are invited to participate.  Scheduling takes place in advance and fills up quickly. For available dates and ideas, please contact Carrie Criss at cmcriss@cmh.edu.

  • Groups can consist of up to 10 volunteers max, minimum of five.
  • Individuals volunteering their time must be at least 18 years old and out of high school.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine is required during flu season.

Groups must provide all the materials for the activity (typically 25 children) Example activities include:

  • Craft projects (preferred)
  • Carnival games and prizes 
  • Performers such as magicians, musicians, mascots, and puppeteers 

Special Events and Seasonal Parties

Daytime Opportunity, Small groups (eight-10) of adults are invited to bring art and craft projects or special entertainment to share with our patients during daytime hours.  Corporations, community groups, and organizations are invited to participate.  Scheduling takes place in advance and fills up quickly. For available dates and ideas, please contact Carrie Criss at cmcriss@cmh.edu.
