Medical and Surgical Admissions (24 hours a day):

• Communications specialist will conference the caller with accepting physician, obtain specific patient information and determine mode of transportation to hospital.
• Primary care physicians may request that patient be admitted directly to Children’s Mercy South. NOT sure if a patient should be admitted: (816) 234-3430. Ask for an ER physician to discuss your patient’s needs.

Children’s Mercy South
Inpatient Admission:1-800-GO-MERCY (1-800-466-3729)
• Identify yourself and ask to speak to a Children’s Mercy South hospitalist.
• Explain your patient case so they can inform you if they can take the patient and/or if they have a bed available. Some patients may be inappropriate for Children’s Mercy South based on acuity or need for pediatric subspecialty consult or procedures.
