Mary Anne Hammond


Community Education Coordinator, Children's Mercy Hospital. Mary Anne Hammond has a Bachelor of Science degree in Interpersonal/Rhetorical Communication from Iowa State University, 1984.  She worked as a Sales Representative and then National Account Manager for a Minnesota Pharmaceutical Company from 1984-1993.  From 1997-2007 she helped start F.I.R.E., The Foundation for Inclusive Religious Education - a not for profit organization with the mission of helping children with special needs attend their home parish Catholic school in Kansas City, Missouri.  Her teenage daughter, Kailey has severe MR and autism, is the reason for her devotion to advocating for kids with special needs.  Mary Anne is currently the Education Coordinator for Autism and Related Disorders for the Section of Developmental/Behavioral Medicine at Children's Mercy Hospital and Clinics.
