Welcome
Welcome to Children’s Mercy Hospital and Clinics! We are pleased that you are considering Children’s Mercy as the place to begin your career in pediatric radiology.
We are very excited about our fellowship program. We have a very dedicated (and growing!) radiology faculty who are driven to provide the best care to our patients and the best education to our trainees. As our faculty grows, so does our scope of practice. We have state of the art technology in all of our departments. Your fellowship will include outstanding training in pediatric plain films, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT and interventional radiology. We also boast a booming MR program including neuroimaging, body imaging, MSK, and cardiac imaging. We anticipate our fetal imaging program to be up and running soon. We also look forward to starting a PET/CT program in the summer of 2010.
Children’s Mercy Hospital is the third children’s hospital and the 66th hospital overall in the nation to achieve Magnet Designation. Our system today has 314 inpatient beds, with more than 15,000 admissions, 290,000 outpatient visits and 136,500 ED visits in 2008. We have consistently been recognized among the nation’s top children’s hospitals in surveys conducted by publications such as Child magazine and US News and World Report.
Congratulations on your decision to pursue pediatric radiology. It is a truly gratifying specialty. We are here to help – please do not hesitate to call with questions. We wish you all the best in your search for finding an appropriate fellowship program that meets your needs and goals.
