The department of ophthalmology at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics is committed to providing the highest quality care for the entire range of vision and eye problems in children. Individuals expressly trained in eye disorders of childhood provide all medical and surgical management. This special expertise covers common problems such as blocked tear ducts, eyelid abnormalities and crossed eyes as well as rare, complex problems such as pediatric cataracts, glaucoma and eye tumors. Adult patients with strabismus are also evaluated and treated by members of the department.
