Fellowship
The Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
Fellowship Program (NPM) was started by Dr. Robert T. Hall
in 1973 and has experienced rapid growth over the years.
The NPM Fellowship Program goal is to prepare pediatricians for
an academic career in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, using a
structured curriculum that provides education in neonatal-perinatal
physiology/pathophysiology, quality-improvement processes and
research design.
The clinical neonatology education takes place at the Level IV
NICU in Children's Mercy Hospital and Truman Medical Center.
Fellows complete a research project and have the opportunity to
obtain additional degrees in Education, Informatics or Clinical
Research at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of
Medicine.
