Quality Improvement

The Division of Hospital Medicine is dedicated to applying improvement scientific methods to ensure the most efficient and effective patient care . Hospitalists are actively engaged in educational opportunities to develop their improvement skills and meet regularly to sharpen those skills. Through multi-disciplinary groups, the Hospital Medicine Division is actively collaborating with several other divisions and departments throughout Children’s Mercy to comprehensively provide the best care possible for children admitted to the hospital.

Safety Committee

The Division of Hospital Medicine is dedicated to ensuring patients and their families will remain safe from harm while hospitalized. The division specific Safety Committee meets regularly to discuss safety events and top safety concerns, and turn that discussion into specific actions. Hospitalists are also involved in several hospital-wide committees and initiatives.
