The Sickle Cell Team at CMH provides comprehensive care to
individuals with all types of sickle cell disease. The team members
include physicians, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, a
social worker, genetic counselor, psychologist, dieticians, child
life specialists and research specialists all with the focus of
providing excellent comprehensive care to our children and young
adults with sickle cell disease. We participate in several national
research studies with other sickle cell specialists around the
country. The Sickle Cell Team has also worked with community
organizations such as Turning Point, The Center for Hope and
Healing to provide AYA educational and social activities in
addition to our camp for individuals aged 6-14 years.
