Cardiovascular Genetics Clinic

The genetics clinic offers evaluations to detect when children have genetic conditions that could lead to cardiovascular health risks. Families will learn about genetic testing options and implications.

Outpatient and Outreach Clinics

Outpatient clinics are held daily at Children's Mercy Hospital, Children's Mercy Kansas and our new, fully-staffed Wichita, Kan. clinic.  Appointments can also be made at Children's Mercy Northland.  Children's Mercy Cardiologists also provide outreach clinics in Joplin, Mo., St. Joseph, Mo., and Junction City, Kan.

Cardiac Catheterization and Hybrid Labs

Children's Mercy has two cardiovascular lab rooms located within the operating room. The labs have direct access to cardiovascular surgery suites. Cardiac interventionalists utilize the labs to offer a range of range of services including diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, balloon angioplasty, valvuloplasty, stent implantation, coil embolization, and hybrid procedures. The ability to do many of these procedures nonsurgically means shorter lengths of stay and less discomfort for patients.

Electrophysiology Lab

Children's Mercy has the only pediatric arrhythmia service in the region with outstanding outcomes in management of all forms of heart rhythm disorders. Our pediatric electrophysiologists perform pacemaker implants, internal defibrillator implants, and ablation procedures in our state-of-the-art electrophysiology lab featuring 3D cardiac mapping and low radiation exposure. The lab is available 24 hours a day.
