Our commitment to providing the best medical care goes hand in hand with our dedication to discovering new treatment methods through clinical research. Current research areas include abdominal pain, inflammatory bowel disease, live care, polyposis, GI issues in children with autism, and many other areas.
Research continues to be a growing focus for the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology. In 2013, our researchers completed more than 50 manuscripts, including peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. We also presented findings at more than 30 national meetings. Craig Friesen, MD, and Jennifer Schurman, PhD, were contributors to the Oxford Textbook of Paediatric Pain, a comprehensive textbook on all aspects of pain in infants, children, and youth. We also collaborate with the Genome Center to diagnose gastroenterology conditions at the genetic level.
Our researchers continue to pursue studies that are improving care for our patients. See a graph tracking our research growth from year to year.
