The Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics have an Emergency Operations Plan which is a hospital wide integrated approach to emergency preparedness and management. It acts as a framework designed help to prepare for, respond to and assist Jackson County and surrounding counties and regional healthcare facilities in the mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery from a wide variety of emergencies, mass casualty incidents or natural disasters. Hospital wide emergency/disaster response drills are conducted at least every six months, often with other hospitals in the region.
