The Tom Watson Emergency Department at Children's Mercy South

The Tom Watson Emergency Department at Children's Mercy South is the only pediatric emergency service provider in the southern half of metropolitan Kansas City with pediatric physicians, nurses and support staff available 24/7. It is not a designated trauma center.

The emergency care center accepts ambulance traffic and provides access to a limited scope of pediatric surgical and radiology specialties.

The center opened in October 2011 and is named after local golfer Tom Watson in recognition of his decades of support for Children's Mercy.
