The Emergency Department at Children's Mercy Hospital is a full-service pediatric emergency department, treating all severity levels of injury and illness, with access to pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties. We also provide access to CommCare, a consultative mental health assessment service.

Children's Mercy offers a Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center, the only one between St. Louis and Denver. The Trauma Center is specially equipped for children and offers immediate access to a wide variety of highly trained and certified doctors, surgeons, nurses and other personnel and equipment 24 hours a day.
