The Administrative Fellowship at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics is designed to provide hands-on experience in both clinical and non-clinical areas of the hospital. This may be provided through a combination of project work, rotations, observations and shadowing experiences. These areas include, but are not limited to:

In addition, previous projects completed during a fellowship include:
- Business plan and market analysis for PET/CT Scanner purchase: Analysis of the market demand and service expansion opportunities for the Department of Radiology to purchase a new PET/CT Scanner.
- Children's Mercy East: Created a proposal to build Children's Mercy East with various clinics including Radiology and Urgent Care. Subsequent to a cost-analysis for facilities, staff and equipment, the project was presented to the senior executive team for a decision.
- Community Benefit IRS Form 990: Defined the process for collecting, assembling and validating community benefit data through collaboration with the Community Benefit Committee, physician section chiefs, executive vice presidents, etc.
- Government Relations Disproportionate Share Project: Developed a report for local and state government officials highlighting the number of children served in their respective districts, common diagnoses, payer information, etc. used to facilitate disproportionate share reimbursement and funding discussions.
- Cerebral Palsy Business Plan: Developed a business plan for a new service line and specialty clinic at Children's Mercy Hospital. This proposal included basic information, an assessment of community need and a pro-forma that was presented for consideration by medical administration. The project also required obtaining buy-in from physicians, nurses and other staff members from various departments within the hospital.
- The Chatlos Foundation Grant Proposal: Drafted and submitted a grant proposal to secure funding for the construction of a large prayer and meditation space for the Chaplaincy Department.
- Strategic Planning Outreach Project: Worked collaboratively with numerous departments including Patient Financial Services, Strategic Planning and Ambulatory Care to determine the viability of stand-alone CMH outreach clinics at four locations within Kansas and Missouri. Following to the acceptance of the proposal, facilitated the process to rent, construct and staff a new clinic.
- Point of Service Cash Collections Program, Ambulatory Services: Implemented a "best practice" methodology in the outpatient clinics to improve collections of cash co-payments.
- "Just in Time" Supply Chain Assessment: A comprehensive review of all inpatient hospital supply processes in collaboration with a consultant to identify opportunities for customer service and financial improvement.
