Global Partnerships Genome Center Goes Global

With the hiring of Dr. Stephen Kingsmore and the establishing of the Children's Mercy Pediatric Genome Center in 2011, Children's Mercy is becoming a major player in the present and future of international pediatric medicine.

A Global Future

Randall L. O'Donnell, PhD, president and CEO of Children's Mercy, visited with scientists in both Ireland (at Queens University Belfast and Royal Victoria Hospital) and China (Guangzhou and Pearl River hospitals) in 2011 to discuss our program and how to make it truly global.

Not only does our global genomic work expand the reach of our work for clinical (diagnosis and treatment) purposes, but we will also be able to jointly conduct research and potentially have thousands of test samples from around the world further build on our knowledge base.
